I&#8217;m always updating them to the NAS so that I&#8217;ve got the most current files. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"FREE Windows Apps You Should be Using (who thought these are ACTUALLY FREE?!)\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fzX8upOEppw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen src=\"about:blank\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This has an appeal in that it doesn&#8217;t suddenly start doing a backup just when I&#8217;m really busy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/freefilesync.org\/\" class=\"su-button su-button-style-glass\" style=\"color:#FFFFFF;background-color:#e12613;border-color:#b41f10;border-radius:6px\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color:#FFFFFF;padding:0px 18px;font-size:14px;line-height:28px;border-color:#ea685a;border-radius:6px;text-shadow:none\"> FreeFileSync<\/span><\/a><div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:20px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><div class=\"su-box su-box-style-glass\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#bb0000;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#ee1d1d;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\">Aside for IMAGE shortcode<\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">This image below, I tried doing some shortcode to , but it doesn&#8217;t work as you have to upload the file , then get the file URL <span class=\"su-highlight\" style=\"background:#ddff99;color:#000000\">&nbsp;http:\/\/max-drake.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/2022-02-08-13_46_56-Edit-Post-FreeFileSync-\u2039-Vast-\u2014-WordPress-\u2014-Mozilla-Firefox.jpg&nbsp;<\/span> and then paste that URL into a shortcode- A bit cumbersome, best to stick with existing image upload process.<\/div><\/div><div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:20px\"><\/div>\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"http:\/\/max-drake.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/2022-02-08-13_46_56-Edit-Post-FreeFileSync-\u2039-Vast-\u2014-WordPress-\u2014-Mozilla-Firefox.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1339px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1339\/901;\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"background\">Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the past I&#8217;ve tried to sync oneDrive &amp; GDrive but as they are happening in the background I find they slow the PC down and do things at inappropriate times and I feel I do not have any control over them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They tend to be a bit irritating when I&#8217;m doing Revit stuff which is using the PC resources near the max and the syncing just slows everything down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t like leaving my PC on at night to allow for backup\/sync to happen when I&#8217;m not using the PC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Generally I&#8217;ve been a bit sloppy with backing up due to these issues so just copy a folder across when I need to. Not the best and it does leave me in a bit of a mess. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve been doing a couple of things that make me think this could be a useful tool<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-autohotkey-coding-in-bedroom-and-main-pc\">A. AutoHotKey  Coding in bedroom and main PC. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I started beginning to code on projects after sleeping , usually I have an idea to move things forward and want to test a part of the code. That works but then I go to the main PC and then I have to transfer the updated code across. I&#8217;ve now got a couple of Hotkeys that allow me to copy files to the NAS so that I can access the latest when I save from the Main to the NAS so I can work on the latest code in the morning in the bedroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m going to sync the directory across to the NAS each night so that I can do that on both PC&#8217;s so that they are both up to date<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"b-revit-project-file\">B. Revit project file<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve mainly been working on the main Microsoft Surface Book but that is starting to crap out now as the battery is swelling so the screen bulges and it doesn&#8217;t close properly. I&#8217;ve been trying to hunt down current work and its been a pain. Since I&#8217;ve moved onto the Microsoft Surface Pro I&#8217;ve spent a bit of time trying to find files and its been annoying, so having a mirror backup now to NAS is a convenient way of making sure there are a couple of places I can go looking for the latest files. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are other folders that I do need some backup on, mainly accounts and Zoe Project Files so I can set those up as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"resources\">Resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YouTube  playlist of vids for helping:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:20px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"end-comment\">End comment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a handy tool, I can set it up to just run when I update something rather than on a time schedule that does not really work for me too well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proof will be in the pudding, I&#8217;m impressed with how simple it is to use and also its sophistication. Hopefully I&#8217;ll have my data backed up in a better manner than I have in the past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I do sometimes forget to do when I want to work on the other PC so have to get up and run the backup on the other computer, generally though this works in very well with my workflow.
