This is the missing link that I didn&#8217;t understand when I was looking at Google Analytics campaigns . I set one up once but I never understood what it was about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This does explain why I never could figure out how it worked. I also did the same with the Datacapture site too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tested with GA but maybe it hasn&#8217;t triggered yet so I&#8217;ll test it tomorrow and see if that works .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"su-dropcap-style-flat-u-su-dropcap-tm-tracking-using-spreadsheet\"><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:1.5em\">U<\/span>TM Tracking using spreadsheet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to try and test out even though both the sites Cr8ive &amp; datacapture are not registering any analytics data at the moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tried setting up in Excel  and concatenating a few elements together so that I got a new string, so I could add them all to make a different link &#8211; see image below. Also updating sites to WP5.9 and updating plugins and for all sites new gtags. So hopefully it will all percolate through for me to see if UTM tags will work. They can be quite handy to see if YouTube  is getting people to visit sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"su-dropcap-style-flat-g-su-dropcap-oogle-campaign-url-builder\"><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:1.5em\">G<\/span>oogle Campaign URL Builder <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I tried to use the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ga-dev-tools.web.app\/ga4\/campaign-url-builder\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Campaign URL builder<\/strong><\/a> to test that instead on the sites but still no active data coming through. I found an article that talked about checking if GA was setup on the site so I tried to use that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"su-dropcap-style-flat-t-su-dropcap-esting-if-ga-was-live-on-sites\"><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:1.5em\">T<\/span>esting if GA was live on sites <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to check if sites had GA working and in an article they pointed to <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gachecker.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">GA Checker<\/a><\/strong> which I used, nearly all of the sites were working apart from pir2.tk so I had to make sure that the tag was included. So after a crawl over the pages most are active, even the photo sites, so that is pleasing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"su-dropcap-style-flat-e-su-dropcap-nd-comment\"><span class=\"su-dropcap su-dropcap-style-flat\" style=\"font-size:1.5em\">E<\/span>nd Comment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I keep on walking away from this and it irritates me so I come back to it again to see if I&#8217;m able to add a UTM tags to some of my YouTube  vids so I can see if people are visiting the posts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having the new google analytics 4 is a bit confusing, especially with older sites , but hopefully I&#8217;ve got them up and running now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next part will be to see if any data comes in that I can see my UTM tags on. That will be exciting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, 2nd  February<\/strong>&#8211; I still can&#8217;t seem to have this working, a bit of a pain. Nothing comes through although I&#8217;ve created a couple of UTM links and sent them through. Most of the GA for the new sites say no data on dashboard.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday 30th March. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A while now and there is some analytics functionality working so I will test it again. I used I did a bit of a custom html into revit articles on max-drake.cc and used  <strong zn_id=\"142\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ga-dev-tools.web.app\/campaign-url-builder\/\" target=\"_blank\">Campaign URL Builder<\/a><\/strong>  to setup the url below &#8220;https:\/\/datacapture.tk?utm_source=websiteArticle&amp;utm_medium=web&amp;utm_campaign=PushTrafficToSite20220330&amp;utm_id=PowerKey4Revit&#8221; to the link.
